Metis provides engineering support to NASA Ames Research Center’s simulation facilities: the Vertical Motion Simulator, Future Flight Central and the Crew-Vehicle Systems Research Facility. These facilities support a wide range of research in aerospace systems and operations, human factors, and aviation safety.
Metis engineers work with researchers to customize distributed real-time simulations to fulfill research requirements, generate and validate research data, and provide support during simulations to ensure research goals are being met. We operate and lead engineering support for the vertical motion simulator, a full motion simulator with range of 60’ vertical and 40’ horizontal. Metis also provides senior-level programming support for developing new and improving existing simulation software. We recently led development of software development for aviation tools such as the Integrated Gate Turnaround Management application prototype.
