Program Manager, Launchpad Safety

Tom Michaud is the Program Manager for the Metis Technology Partners Pad Safety Support Contract (PSSC) II, managing and directing support operations and launch safety functions at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Kennedy Space Center, and Patrick Space Force Base. Prior to joining Metis in April 2022, Tom led the Pad safety program for four years on behalf of Millennium Engineering and Integration Co.

Holding an M.A. in Organizational Management, Tom possesses over 30 years of combined supervisory experience in the aerospace industry and as a civil servant. Tom’s prior responsibilities have included performing safety operations, supervising facilities, and working on large-scale management projects. Before joining Millenium, Tom was the Deputy City Manager for Palm Bay, Florida, a city with an annual budget of $173 million and over 110,000 residents. Tom also had a six-year career with Lockheed Martin working on numerous safety and processing projects, which saw him managing the $74-million-dollar Payload Launch Services contract. Prior to entering industry, Tom had a nearly 30-year career in the U.S. Air Force, attaining the rank of Chief Master Sergeant before retiring in 2008. Tom’s responsibilities in the Air Force included directing the implementation of safety operations, engineering, and environmental requirements for four multi-billion-dollar national space systems and leading a maintenance group of 400 personnel.
