Digital Engineering transcends simply creating models. Metis used these methods in the creation of SimLabs Visual System Upgrade for the Vertical Motion Simulator (VMS) at NASA Ames Research Center. Creating a computerized, digital model of the existing analog system, including its aging infrastructure. The digital model captured degradation of physical attributes, including compensation for the degradation of gears which was included in the control system design. The Digital Twin of the Visual System was used to map out procurement for the upgrade and to evaluate Maintenance and & Operations considerations.
