Jeffrey Sherk Joins Metis as Director of Strategic Programs

Jeff Sherk joins Metis in a corporate leadership role as the company’s Director of Strategic Programs. Jeff has over 28 years of experience in space operations, program management, research and development, test and evaluation and with unique experience in offensive & defensive space control,  space situational awareness, directed energy, and hypersonics.  He served as an Air Force Officer for 24 years and served 5 years in industry as a program manager and capture lead at Schafer Corporation.

During his Air Force career, Jeff held many leadership positions including Assistant to the Director, Missile Defense Agency; DARPA Hypersonic Technology Vehicle (HTV-2), Program Manager; Chief, Space Superiority Technology Division, SMC/SY; Director of Operations, AFRL Detachment 15; Flight Commander, 18th Space Surveillance Squadron; Chief, Plans and Tactics, SMC TE; Experiment Operations Lead for the Technology for Autonomous Operational Survivability (TAOS) satellite program, AFRL; and Deputy Flight Commander, 1st Satellite Control Squadron. He has a M.E. in Space Operations from the University of Colorado and a B.S. in Astrophysics from California State University, Northridge.

As the Metis Director of Strategic Programs, Jeff will be working primarily in business development as capture lead for upcoming Air Force and NASA space-related opportunities.
