January, 2013. Metis prime contractor SAIC has been awarded a five-year contact to support aerospace systems modeling and simulation facilities at NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, California. The facilities include, but are not limited to the Crew-Vehicle Systems Research Facility, Vertical Motion Simulator Complex and FutureFlight Central. The SimLabs’ primary mission is to provide high-fidelity environments for simulated flight research and to advance state-of-the art of simulation technology. The SAIC team is responsible for operation, development, maintenance and modification of the SimLabs; successful preparation and operation of the simulators, and collection of research data. Metis will provide simulation engineering support for this effort as subcontractor to SAIC.
