Metis Welcomes Ron Unruh as Director of Contracts

Metis is pleased to welcome Ron Unruh to our headquarters staff as Director of Contracts. Ron is a retired USAF officer with 23 years of service.  His military career encompassed Air Traffic control radar, missile operations, aerospace and research and development acquisition.  He was hand selected to the AFIT Education with Industry program in acquisition. He has held multiple warrants to include the only DoD dual warranted Administrative Contracting Officer and Property Administrator and later served as an Air Force Supervisory Procuring Contracting Officer (PCO) at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Kirtland AFB, NM.  He was the initial contracting officer for the USAF Airborne Laser program.  Ron last served as the contracts division chief for the AFRL Advanced Weapons Directorate.  His division provided all contracts support to AFOTEC, TACCSF (now DMOC), SAALC, USA Big Crow Program Office (BCPO) and he was the PCO for the Agent Defeat Weapons Program and the Hard and Deep Program. Following his military retirement, he provided contracts advisory and assistance services to several organizations. Additionally, Ron has long held leadership positions in the Professional Aerospace Contractors Association (PACA) of New Mexico. For over 20 years, Ron has been chairman of PACA’s Briefing for Industry event held annually in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Ron will be the point of contact for all Metis contracts-related activities, as well as participating in establishing our Quality Management System and Air Force business development.
