Arno Wainikainen has been promoted to the role of Chief Operations Officer at Metis Technology Solutions, Inc. after having served as the company’s Executive Director of Business
Development for the past 15 months. In his role as COO, Mr. Wainikainen will lead corporate infrastructure improvement and quality initiatives, and oversee Metis corporate operational support offices. “I’m thrilled to have Arno in an expanded role as a key member of the Metis leadership team,” said Joy Colucci, CEO and Owner of Metis. “Arno has a great deal of operational expertise and previous experience as COO of a government sector small business that will serve Metis well in the years to come.”Mr. Wainikainen brings to his role as Chief Operating Officer over 40 years of business development, engineering, project/program management, consulting, and executive-level leadership experience split between the public and private sector. Prior to joining Metis, he served as the Chief Operating Officer of Orbital Engineering that is a veteran-owned multi-discipline engineering, construction management, and inspection company specializing in retrofit engineering and asset integrity serving clients in electrical utilities, oil & gas, metals, and infrastructure. Mr. Wainikainen has top-tier management consulting experience with EY and Booz Allen Hamilton where he provided engineering/technical, process improvement, and project management services to Federal sector clients such as the Department of Defense and prestigious Fortune 50 clients. He has also served as Executive Vice President for a small minority-owned business having oversight responsibilities on NASA contracts. Mr. Wainikainen is a licensed professional engineer with a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Maryland, College Part, Maryland.
