Metis Diversity and Inclusion Program Wins International Award

Metis Technology Solutions, Inc. (Metis) has been named the 2022 Gold Stevie® Winner for Achievement in Diversity and Inclusion (D&I). The Stevie Awards for Great Employers recognize the world’s best employers and Human Resources (HR) professionals, teams, achievements, and HR-related products and suppliers who help create and drive great places to work. Metis’s nomination was one of nearly 1000 total Stevie Award submissions, and was the only submission to win the Gold Stevie® for D&I.

“We are thrilled our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) program and policies won the Gold Stevie® for D&I,” said Jennifer Paulik, Vice President of Human Resources at Metis. “Winning the Stevie Award provides great momentum as we look to continuously improve our industry-leading DEIA program and ensure all voices and perspectives can contribute at Metis. Since being nominated for the Stevie Award, we have already expanded and improved our DEIA policies, including opening an Anonymous Reporting Portal for DEIA complaints and successfully completing executive-level DEIA training.”

Metis, a Woman-Owned Small Business, has been a DEIA leader in aerospace science and engineering since its inception in 2011. Metis DEIA practices include a robust set of corporate policies ensuring equitable treatment of all employees, leadership and education opportunities for members of underserved communities, company-wide celebrations of special emphasis observances (like LGBTQ+ Pride Month and Black History Month), and a publicly posted DEIA statement. The judges for the Stevie Awards gave these policies high praise in their official evaluations, calling the Metis DEIA program “remarkable,” especially noting their employee-centric nature leads to “people [being] prioritized.”

Previous Metis recognition from outside organizations for inclusive workplace and hiring practices includes earning Diversity Equity Inclusion Workplace (DEI Workplace™) certification from Diversity for Social Impact™, winning four straight Department of Labor HIREVets Medallions between 2018-2021, and winning three straight Family Friendly New Mexico awards between 2019-2021.
